What does jackfruit taste like?
It depends on what stage of maturity the jackfruit is in, but a young jackfruit has a dense, shredded texture similar to pulled pork, and a subtle flavour that takes on the the seasonings and flavours it’s cooked with.

The simple answer is, yes! Every 64 grams (1/2 a cup) of young jackfruit contains approximately 40 calories, zero sugar, zero fat and 2 grams of protein. Plus it also contains a percentage of your recommended daily intact of: fibre (29%), potassium (20%), iron (2%), calcium (4%).
